The Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) School of Behavior Analysis
Chair, Online Masterâs Program in Professional Behavior Analysis
(Full-Time/12 month)
The Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) School of Behavior Analysis seeks applications for a full-time Chair of the Masterâs Program in Professional Behavior Analysis to begin August 2020. The position is a non-tenure administrative position with faculty rank at either the assistant, associate, or full professor level. Most of the work assignment will be in our Masterâs program in Professional Behavior Analysis that is offered online; however, there will also be practicum supervision duties for the Melbourne and Orlando campuses, along with the potential for occasional on-campus teaching opportunities or student research supervision. The full-time 12-month position is based at our main Melbourne campus, thus offering an opportunity for collaborating with colleagues on research projects. Administrative duties include academic oversight, managing faculty, working with Florida Techâs staff and our partners to coordinate admissions, marketing, and overall working to improve the student and faculty experience in the PBA program.
A doctorate in behavior analysis or related discipline, with an emphasis in behavior analysis, is required. The successful applicant must be a Board Certified Behavior AnalystÂŽ (BCBAÂŽ or BCBA-DTM). Given that this is primarily administrative position responsible for working with our partners in the development and delivery of online instruction, the ideal applicant should have experience in administration and online learning. She or he should also be able to supervise and teach courses in applied behavior analysis, experimental analysis of behavior and conceptual analysis with a focus on training future practitioners in the basic science and philosophy of our discipline, while equipping them to work as BCBA practitioners in the public and private sector.
Florida Techâs first behavior analysis program was established in 1998.. Since then it has grown to offer four different masterâs degrees, a doctoral degree, and an online degree. The mission of our M.A. Professional Behavior Analysis Degree Program is to produce proficient science-informed practitioners who are solidly grounded in basic principles derived from the experimental analysis of behavior, who approach problems in a conceptually systematic way tied to those basic principles, who will attain BCBA certification, who adhere to best data-based and evidenced-based ABA practices, and who will continue to inform their practice with current research findings.
Review of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the finalists are selected. Florida Tech is an Equal Opportunity Employer; women and people of color are especially encouraged to apply. The position is contingent on funding.
