Autism and Babbling?

Originally published: October 11th, 2018 via Facebook I understand that, before 6 month, typical infants babble the same universal sounds all around the world. I assume that after 6 months, kids start babbling in their native language. And I assume we should call this “echoic behavior” reinforced by sounds that have themselves been paired with reinforcers, e.g., from mama, et al. Any data? What are your thoughts? What about autistic infants? To what extent and when do they end up babbling in their native language? Any data? It also looks like autistic kids babble less and start babbling at a latter age?
