Melissa Ainslie

Punishment by the prevention
of the Presentation of a cookie:
The Melissa Ainslie Story

Once upon a time, there was a young girl. She was very chatty. Her parents, having only so much energy began using a parental technique that would one day change the young girl’s life.
“Melissa, do you want a cookie?”
       “Yes!”
       “Ok, then be quiet!”
Perhaps it could be clearly stated like this:

There is hardly anything more punishing than the prevention of a cookie. This little girl eventually grew up, graduated from Ferris State University in May 2007 with her B.S. in Psychology, and somehow was accepted into Western’s MA program in Applied Behavior Analysis. I know what you are thinking; ‘what a lucky girl!’ And you’re right…but you have no idea how right you are! Dr. Malott was this lucky girl’s advisor! Now even though Dr. Malott didn’t have any cookies to withhold from Melissa, he still did an amazing job of helping her succeed! To the extent that she was able to graduate in Spring 2009!

Now that is what I call sizable and probable!
