The Project Performance Management System (PPMS) is designed to manage the performance of MA students in BATS who are completing posters and projects as a part of their thesis requirements. Frequent deadlines and point contingencies are used to improve the timeliness of completion of small components of each respective project. Continuous quality improvement is conducted by collecting data on timeliness, quality of supervision, and social validity. Two projects are of particular focus to PPMS: the autism poster (presented at ABAI Autism conferences) and the Organization Behavior Management Project.

Ultimate Goal
The goal of this system is to improve the quality of work that is being produced by masters’ students for their OBM/Autism projects. In the past, the overall quality, timeliness, and significance of their work were at an unacceptable level. The reasons varied, but the idea found to be the most likely root was the lack of performance management, thus this system’s second goal is to provide that management. This system is ultimately designed to enhance the goal of BATS: to produce quality behavior analysis students and giving them to tools to do quality work.
What PPMS is doing
PPMS is currently finishing the design of the system and has started to provide performance management to the second year grad students completing OBM and Autism research projects. We are currently developing a more thorough curriculum, and have begun providing project performance management for 2013 BATS cohort.
